OSHA Audiometric Testing

NOHS offers audiometric testing (on-site with one of our mobile units or in our clinic) and the data management of all hearing conservation materials that fully comply with OSHA occupational standards. The purpose of hearing conservation testing is to monitor an employee on an annual basis to determine if exposure to occupational noise has a negative effect on their hearing. An initial test establishes the employee's baseline hearing levels. Subsequent testing is then performed to see if there has been a shift in hearing. The data management consists of a disc or book compiled with the following information: all employee test results (includes baseline test & current test), a list of employees with a standard threshold shift (STS) 10 dB classification, a list of employees with a recordable STS dB classification, a comprehensive summary of all employees that were flagged with an STS as well as recommendations for each employee, and individual employee copies of test (baseline & current) with an explanation of their results. NOHS uses state of the art audiometric testing devices to ensure your employees' tests are performed accurately. All testing results are reviewed by a technician who is certified by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
